On Tuesday, 16 February 2016, 15 CWL members went to Macau on a pilgrimage to visit four holy sites that have rich historical significance. They visited St Lawrence Church, St Joseph’s Seminary and Church, the Ruins of St Paul and the Cathedral of Macau. They were led by Sister Margaret from Macau on this trip. (For more details read page 3 of our March newsletter)
This is an annual outing-cum-walk organized around Chinese New Year to foster fellowship. An initiative by CWL members Anita Stevenson and Catherine Wong, our first such outing was organized in 2015.
On 22 February, 2016, 12 of our members braved a foggy and cold winter morning to take part in a walk, on the circular trail on the Peak. This was followed by lunch at a restaurant there too.
CWL members conduct Bingo sessions once a month at two elderly care homes.
A highlight of the Bingo afternoons during Chinese New Year is the distribution of lycee packets during the monthly sessions. CWL members distributed lycees at St Joseph’s Elderly Home, Sheung Shui on February 16, 2016, Missionaries of Charity on February 18, 2016 and St Mary’s Elderly Home, Aberdeen on February 24, 2016.
